Hannah Liddeaux

Hannah Liddeaux is a Melbourne-based theatre artist whose practice spans performance, arts education, and teaching. Her work moves fluidly between the intimacy of children's live art, the rigour of professional theatre, and the collaborative energy of the classroom.

Hannah is an Associate Artist with OpticNerve Performance Group, a Melbourne company known for its emotionally immersive approach to making theatre. She lectures at the Victorian College of the Arts (University of Melbourne), bringing a practice-led perspective to the training of emerging artists.

Alongside artist Alex Walker, Hannah co-created School With No Walls — a nomadic imagination hub offering creative arts programmes for schools across Australia, from kindergarten to Year 12. One of her most celebrated works for young audiences is Moon Broken (2019), an immersive live-art performance commissioned by ArtPlay (City of Melbourne), in which children aged 3–5 are cast as the sole experts capable of healing a broken moon.

Acknowledgement of Country

Hannah Liddeaux acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which she lives, works, and tells stories. She pays her deepest respects to Elders past, present, and emerging.
Storytelling, gathering, and the act of making imaginative worlds together are practices with roots far older and deeper than any stage or classroom. To make art on this Country is a profound privilege — one that carries a responsibility to listen, to honour, and to remain curious about the living cultures that have flourished here for tens of thousands of years.
